British performance-apparel brand Walero has unveiled Walero Active, a new range of ‘intelligent activewear’ that utilises NASA-developed temperature-regulating technology. The four-piece launch collection features Outlast technology, which was originally engineered for astronauts to manage body temperature shifts.
The high-performance clothing range uses an adaptive nanocapsule system called Thermocules. This system is designed to actively absorb, store, and release thermal energy to maintain the body’s optimal comfort zone during activities such as running, hiking, or general daily movement.
Walero Active products are treated with Polygiene StayFresh, a permanent antimicrobial finish that helps to stop odour-causing bacteria. Walero adds that the active ingredient is bonded to the fabric to ensure it does not wash out or enter the environment. This allows the garments to stay fresher for longer, requiring fewer washes.
The garment names in the new range are inspired by iconic mountains and hills. The Snowdon unisex V-neck long sleeve top is priced at £145, while the Ben Nevis unisex half zip long sleeve top is £195. For lower body wear, the Slieve women’s leggings are available for £159 and the Helvellyn men’s leggings for £165.
The launch of Walero Active coincides with the arrival of the brand’s Motorsport 2.0 collection. This is an evolution of the FIA-approved fire-retardant base layers used by professional drivers. Additionally, a new line of Trackday tops has been introduced to bring the company’s cooling technology to non-competitive motorsport.
Fiona James, Founder and CEO of Walero, said “When I started Walero, my goal was to help racing drivers perform better and stay safe under extreme conditions. With Walero Active, we’ve taken that same science-driven innovation, refining it for training, commuting and daily performance – intelligent apparel that adapts with your every move.”
The collection is constructed with four-way stretch fabric and seamless construction to provide friction-free comfort. According to the company, each garment is engineered to reduce heat stress and fatigue by supporting the body’s natural ability to regulate temperature.
Walero also supports SEED Madagascar, a UK-based non-profit organisation. A percentage of every sale is donated to the charity to support environmental conservation, reforestation, and community development initiatives in southeast Madagascar.
