Marik Von Rennenkampff, a former national security analyst who contributes to The Hill, notes that people with knowledge on the topic have long expressed fear for their lives if they divulge information.

Observers say McCasland’s career included overseeing classified government programs that include “unidentified anomalous phenomena” and possible nonhuman intelligence.
