Pringles: Joe Marler helps introduce the social snacking experiment
Joe Marler has lifted the lid on his seriously mind-bending views about aliens and reckons the whole thing “burns his brain”. The England rugby star known for his cheeky personality, admitted he’s baffled by the idea of life beyond Earth. But is convinced we can’t be alone…
Speaking to Daily Star as he promoted Pringles latest campaign, Joe said: “There’s no ghosts out there. When you die, you die,” he said bluntly. “Aliens are a different one… surely there’s got to be stuff out there. How can we be the only things?”
Rugby star Joe then took things to another level, questioning everything we think we know about little green men. “I love all the things that we dress up to be aliens… Long, skinny, gangly arms, bald heads, big black eyes,” he said. “Why have we come up with that? Why can’t aliens actually just look like us?”

The 35-year-old admitted the whole concept leaves him completely baffled.
“It burns my brain trying to work it out,” he said. “I struggle with the kids’ homework, let alone what’s going on in the rest of the universe.”
And in a twist that could leave fans questioning reality, Joe even suggested WE might be the aliens.
“There has to be something out there… It’s such a massive universe,” he added. “We could be the aliens to someone else.”
But while he’s busy pondering the mysteries of space, Joe reckons we should probably focus a bit closer to home.
“We know more about outer space than we do the deep blue sea,” he said. “Why aren’t we working out what’s going on on our own planet first?”

Away from his out-of-this-world theories, Joe has been keeping his feet firmly on the ground after teaming up with Pringles for their ‘Social Snacking Experiment’.
The campaign sees him hitting the streets and encouraging Brits to connect with strangers over a simple tube of crisps.
“Even the smallest gesture, like passing a tube of Pringles, can spark genuine connection,” he said.
And while he might not have all the answers about aliens, one thing’s for sure, Joe knows how to get people talking.
“If I can make people laugh or help them connect in a small way, that’s a win for me,” he added.
The Social Snacking Experiment forms part of Pringles’ wider new brand platform, Pass the Pringles, now rolling out across the UK and Europe. Built on the simple insight that people don’t just enjoy eating Pringles, they enjoy sharing them, the campaign celebrates the power of passing a tube to spark playful, feel-good connections and turn everyday encounters into meaningful shared moments.
