No, science *sees* slow grinding. The origins of European geology absolutely took the Flood as a presumption for basically the entire 19th century until it became obvious that the evidence just wasn’t there.

My exploring has led me to the Large igneous provinces under the current ice sheets as potential evidence. I figure if an incredible isostatic-rebound event occured, such as an ice sheet vaporizing from a comet impact. The resulting loss of lithostatic pressure on the crust might give those deep mantle plumes a pathway to the surface. Erupting and releasing enormous amounts of Basalt. As a way for explaining huge additions of water.
