I had never seen this before!
Digitized and born-digital records related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) in the National Archives Catalog are available here in bulk downloads produced from the Catalog records. The downloadable zip files containing image, video, and PDF files are linked below, along with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format files containing metadata for each record.
What do these bulk downloads include?
These bulk downloads include all of the digitized and born-digital records (digital objects) listed on the Records Related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) at the National Archives web page that are available in the National Archives Catalog.Â
What is not included in the bulk downloads?
Some of these materials are not available online due to copyright or other intellectual property rights restrictions. In these instances, the link provided is only for the Catalog description of the materials. Researchers must make arrangements to view these records onsite in the Moving Image and Sound Research Room at the National Archives at College Park, Maryland.
How are the bulk downloads generated?
NARA Catalog staff pull the National Archives Identifiers (NAIDs) from the Records Related to UAPs at the National Archives list and run some scripts to ensure all applicable file units and items for series are included, and retrieve the object URLs for all items.Â
How often will the bulk downloads for records related to UAPs be updated?
NARA will update these bulk downloads at least three times a year. It may be updated more frequently based on additions to the Catalog. We will post the date the files were last updated.
