What do you realistically think would happen next?

  1. Would people even care after the first few weeks?
  2. Would it change science, religion, or geopolitics?
  3. Would it shift how we see ourselves as a species?
  4. Or would it just become another news cycle that fades away?

I'm curious whether you think disclosure would truly transform society or if most of humanity would simply go back to normal/mostly superficial life?

    Submission Statement:

Been wondering what would actually change if all UFO / UAP files were suddenly released. Would it really shift society, or would people move on quickly?

  2. It depends on many factors that each could alter the outcome. Its hard to make predictions especially regarding the future.

  3. I know that i will still get bills – so i still have to work, to pay them. Nothing would change, besides having some good conversations about it at the bar.

Idk most people don’t acknowledge that UFOs are real. They have been documented and on the news with fighter pilot footage. The USA has pushed the tin foil hat issue so far that it seems most people reject it. I don’t get it. I think its all the fluoride in the water.

If it was proven unequivocally that alien life exists then we would probably war amongst ourselves just trying to figure out what to do about it.

  6. Unless we had demonstrable, meaningful contact, it would be a blockbuster news cycle for 2 weeks or a month. Books, and movies would abound. It wouldn’t change religion. I don’t why everyone gets so caught up with that assumption. The Bible never says we are the only thing to exist.
I think military spending would explode.
But to the majority of the world, it would mean little.
    Lots would not believe it.

  7. I think a lot of people wouldn’t believe it even if they were told. There’s not really any powerful trustworthy people on the planet at this point where people would believe what was said. Footage would be critiqued because of the possibility of it being made with AI. It would take some major eye witness accounts in major metropolitans for masses to believe. But some redacted files released to the public would just be a minor news cycle people will forget about quick.

Disclosure? Not much. Maybe we lose trust with the govt, which we already dont have much. But if Alien races directly start interacting with us? A lot. It will move our civilisation by a scale.

  9. What if it were possible to prove a negative and we learned that there are no aliens, at least not any interested in us? Would our weirdos start paying attention to current events? Would we finally take climate change and nuclear proliferation seriously?

  10. It won’t be! The files will redact all the instances the aliens were molested by Trump.

  11. Nothing will change; people will carry on with their lives as usual. When I was younger, I imagined that a revelation like “We are not alone” would transform the world, but after witnessing so many seemingly unimaginable events pass without causing any real stir in society, I doubt NHI would make any difference. We could break it down into aspects like religion, philosophy, or sociology, but it all still comes back to the same conclusion: nothing is going to change. As a society, we’ve become too numb to get excited about anything. The constant stream of “breaking news” has made us immune to it. NHI would just be another headline—noticed by a few, cared about by some, but ignored by the majority, who would simply move on.

The Epstein files would be redacted.

Oh, you said “changed”, that’s my bad.

  13. I don’t think much will change in short-term, but in long term things would get much better, especially with open contact. I feel that people are getting bombarded with information like epstein files, which is such a shock for them that they dont know how to process it and become numb.
It also depends on how media handles it, to me it seems like majority is not capable of thinking by themselves and rather have someone tell them how they should feel.

Nothing, really ! We still have to work and pay bills ! Only thing would be changing is history and what we been waiting for is the confirmation of them

  15. Day-to-day life for most citizens won’t change much. However, the implications for militaries and scientists will be enormous.

    Everything.

Everything will change. Literally everything. The question is to what scale?

  17. Mr_McGigglepants on

Full disclosure? Probably everything would change.

Weak ass government “disclosure”? Nothing whatsofuckingever

  18. I assume people would state “of course because the universe is enormous”

Religion would find a way to shoehorn it in. Everyone is God’s children.

The only people who i imagine would be surprised are people who believe that due to the size of the universe it’s highly unlikely we have been visited.

I expect there would be short term panic in the markets until people settled down realising that aliens existing does not mean they don’t have to go to work on Monday.

If we truly got disclosure it would be in the news for a while and a lot of things around it, tech, medical etc and what we could do with it. Then it would die down and things would get back to normal.

  20. Suddenly, they’ll say “angels” and “demons” in the bible really meant “good aliens” and “bad aliens” respectively! “See, bible was always right!”
