Rep. Eric Burlison from Montana recently joined other members of Congress to demand disclosures regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), the modern term for UFOs.
Burlison appeared in a recent interview with The Anomalous Coalition, a YouTube channel run by moderators of related communities on Reddit, alongside filmmaker James Fox and Leslie Lean, whose work has revolved around the same subject.
During this interview, he revealed that the members wrote a letter to several White House officials including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the Department of Energy, urging them to release “specific files and metadata” regarding UAPs.

The letter, that has not been publicly released, was signed by House members Anna Paulina Luna, Tim Burchett, Nancy Mace, André Carson, Eli Crane, Scott Perry, and Suhas Subramanyam, as well as Burlison.
He added that he was warned by some unnamed staff from the United States Army Special Force and Intelligence Community that he may be killed for pursuing these disclosures. “They said, ‘You need to take those 2 names off your list and never talk about [them] again. They’d have no problem having you killed.’”

The growing interest in extraterrestrial objects prompted President Donald Trump to open an investigation into the matter last month.
In a Truth Social post, he said that he would be directing federal agencies “to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”
This announcement was the result of former President Barack Obama’s appearance on a podcast by YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen where he hinted that these unknown objects existed, but that he had never seen them before.
During a hearing of the House Oversight Committee in September last year, Rep. Burlison played a video that seemingly showed an “orb” flying unaffected after being struck by an MQ-9 hellfire missile off the coast of Yemen.
Over the years, he has demanded UAP whistleblower protection and often given them a platform to share their experiences, including during the hearing last year.
In a recent statement to CNN, the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), tasked with investigating UAPs, said it is “working in close coordination with the White House and across federal agencies to consolidate existing UAP records collections and facilitate the expeditious release of never-before-seen UAP information.”
“Trump is the disclosure President,” Rep. Burlison told The Anomalous Coalition. He also added that so far, there were “a lot of failures from Congress” in enacting Trump’s orders.
