Hard disagree.
You have more autonomy, information and options available to you that for most of human history people could only dream of.
This is a doomer take that the people in charge would love you to believe, because it makes it easier for them to control you.

The concept of ‘control’ is false. There is no rhyme or reason for things. Things simply are. Does an electron choose its position or does the position choose the electron? Does this make sense or is it jibber jabber?

On the other hand, we have more control over the minutia of our day to day lives than we think.
You can choose to put cinnamon in your coffee. You can choose to wake up a bit earlier and take a walk in the morning. You can choose to run outside naked, scream guttural noises while thrashing in the middle of the road.
As silly as my last example is, it’s still a tragedy that people tell themselves they have no agency. It will become a self fulfilling prophecy.

I’m currently freaking out over a rent, money transfer situation that I know will be worked out no matter what. I needed to read this.
Each thought of worry is like a poke in the back with a stick that I don’t need.
