Honestly, Burlison is one of the guys I really believe. His blatant skepticism in the first hearing really showed his thoughts on the subject.

But him analyzing evidence, listening to whistleblowers and who knows what else hes been shown behind closed doors, seeing him slowly start to realize that there is something going on has been really interesting to watch.

I’ve fallen out of this topic, the discussion of UFOs, for quite some time now. It always intrigued me but as time went on I think I came to a realization.

Humans are psychologically resilient and adaptable. But paradigm shifts have always been one of those things that typically upsets a society in ways we can’t really predict. With something as paradigm shifting as the confirmation of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe one has to take into consideration a lot of things.

First, we, as avid followers of the topic, already have a level of open mindedness atypical of that of the average person allowing us to openly consider possibilities that may or may not fall outside of traditional logic. This is a gift, most of us are not responsible for cultivating such a level of open mindedness, we are born with it. Others might not be so fortunate, and others have the capacity for change. I digress.

Secondly, religious fanaticism exists everywhere. As someone who’s been on both sides of the coin and experienced varying degrees of faith I can attest to the fact that a large group of religious believers would not handle such a revelation as well as we might hope. It would break down institutions and build new ones, both creatively healthy for society and inherently damaging.

A lot of people would hear the news, shrug, and head to work. A lot, however, would be emotionally displaced, confronted with a level of philosophical inquiry theyre not accustomed to, and this kind of rapid shift can cause varying degrees of mass psychosis in individuals.

There isn’t enough time in the day to break down the impacts such a revelation would have on the world and its varying industries and not enough minds together to predict the outcomes it would have on society as a whole. Thus, slow disclosure.

I stopped burying my nose in this type of stuff for the very reason that nothing will happen until it happens and anything before such a time is mere speculation and hearsay despite the overwhelming amount of different types of evidence brought forth. It’s a political game nobody wants to play yet and until it drastically benefits a certain party to genuinely disclose what knowledge we have, we as a country would be showing our hand too soon. To our adversaries and ourselves.
