Lime Pictures’ brand-new live-action comedy adventure Girl Troop vs Aliens is now available on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

The 10 x 25’ series follows a tight-knit group of 12-year-old friends – Tilda, Kiara, Ruby and Ginny, who are members of the Brighthawks, a global outward-bound association for girls. As their troop prepares to host its annual summer camp, they’re thrilled to welcome fellow Brighthawks from around the world.

But it quickly becomes clear that some attendees have travelled from much, much further afield…

Blending comedy, adventure and heart, Girl Troop vs Aliens sees the quartet face an extra-terrestrial mystery and race to earn their coveted “Planet Protector” badge.

Leading the young cast are Madeleine McKenna (making her TV debut) as Tilda, Kayla-Mai Alvares (Barbie, Odd Squad) as Kiara, Kate Luo in her TV drama debut as Ruby and Bonnie Hill (Film Club) as Ginny.

They are joined by a stellar line-up of adult talent including Rhys Stephenson (Blue Peter, Strictly Come Dancing) as Agent Johnson, Faye Brookes (Our Zoo, Coronation Street) as Commander June, Krissi Bohn (Coronation Street, Ridley) as Pippa and Callum Sim (Talamasca: The Secret Order) as Lewis.

Sebastian Tensel, Hughie Higginson and Olivier Award-winner Cleo Demetriou also star, alongside Radish as Agnes the Dog.

The aliens designed by the award-winning Millennium FX, are brought to life by Nick Kellington (Star Wars franchise) and Mohsen Nouri (Solo: A Star Wars Story).

Based on the critically acclaimed 2019 Edinburgh Fringe show created by playwright Madeline Perham, the series was developed for television with Julia Kent (Malory Towers, Hunter Street) serving as Head Writer.

The series is directed by Theresa Varga (Brassic) and Angelo Abela (Free Rein), with Abela also executive producing alongside Tim Compton (Wolf King). Executive Producer for CBBC is Anita Burgess (Malory Towers).

Girl Troop vs Aliens was filmed on location in Liverpool and marks the first production build to use L16 Studios, Lime’s latest studio innovation.

Produced by Lime Pictures for CBBC, the series will be distributed worldwide by Boat Rocker Studios.
