SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The Boyden-Hull Comets were matched up with Coon Rapids-Bayard in their Class 1A Substate 8 Championship match.
After a low scoring grimey game through three quarters. The Comets would open up the final frame on a near 15-2 run.
Boyden-Hull would never look back from there winning 54-40 and punching a ticket to the state tournament.
“We knew that if we wanted to win this game we were going to have to play good defense,” said senior Garret Van Es. “We knew coming into this one 33 was going to get his, but if we could hold the rest to theirs we were going to win this game”
