Bassett is a doofus. The State of the Union would be a weird occasion to tackle something as complex and multi-faceted as aliens and their tech… it makes no sense. A separate press conference with Q&A would be far better and could easily run longer than the SOTU itself. It should come after the address, since diving into that topic during the speech would likely tank the stock market right after he highlights its great performance lol.
