Auctioneers Clive Emson described the sale as “a bidding war,” with the garages located in a residential area of Epsom and split into two lots.
A group of 12 garages at the rear of 150-158 Curtis Road sold for £241,000—more than £100,000 above the guide price.
And another 11 garages behind 23-33 Curtis Road achieved £186,000 after 60 bids from five potential buyers.

John Stockey, director and auctioneer at Clive Emson, said: “This is another example of how well garages such as these do at auction, with bidders recognising the worth of a potential investment.
“With parking spaces often at a premium, especially in London commuter areas, good income can be generated by letting out self-contained garages.
“Now is certainly the time to come to market if anyone has anything similar they are looking to dispose of at one of our auctions.”
The garages were among 177 lots listed across southern England in the firm’s first auction of 2026, which ended on Wednesday.
Clive Emson Auctioneers holds eight auctions a year and covers East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey from its Brighton office.
