I awoke from a nap to see a luminous object, as bright as a star (mid day, brightest object visible) below us but to my eye clearly airborne. Maybe at 15k-20k ft. We were flying through some grey stratus clouds and even through the atmosphere it was BRIGHT. It was visible for 5 minutes as we passed at probably 480-500mph. Shimmering and shifting the whole time. Looked like it was a disk of fire. Smaller balls (orbs?) the same yellowish color would appear and disappear to its right and left – seeming to phase in and out of the air around it.
At the time I was wondering if this could have been a distant solar array catching the sun, but mind you at the time of day the sun was high (near noon) and as we passed at high speeds the general shape of the object held even in spite of quite a bit of parallax between us and whatever it was. The other nagging thing on my mind was that, to my eye at least, it very much looked airborne. Thoughts? (Attached to this post is video 1/2)
