On Saturday, Feb. 21, the BFA-St. Albans Comet basketball team closed the regular season with a nailbiter, falling 50-48 to Essex.
The Comets were down 23-16 going into the half and had a strong third quarter, outscoring Essex 21-12 in the third, but it wasn’t enough as Essex held BFA off on Essex senior night.
Comet highlights: Emma Harrison finished with 30 points, scoring 22 in the second half, while
Lexie Litchfield, Emma Parah, Joslyn Bessette, and Payton Moore each had 3. Karina Farinnacio, Braylee Fortier, and Kaitlyn Schoembs added 1 apiece.
What’s next? The No. 12 Comets travel to No. 5 Champlain Valley Union on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. for playdowns.
