HARTFORD, CT. (WFSB) – The Hartford Wolf Pack lost 2-1 to the Utica Comets at PeoplesBank Arena on Friday night, marking the club’s ninth loss in their last ten games.
Neither team scored through the first two periods despite high-quality chances on both ends. Utica goaltender Nico Daws made five saves in the first period, while Dylan Garand stopped eleven shots to keep the game scoreless through 40 minutes.
Ethan Edwards broke the deadlock for the Comets 10:05 into the third period. The goal marked the tenth consecutive game in which the Wolf Pack allowed the first goal.
Marc McLaughlin extended the lead to 2-0 at 12:30 during four-on-four play.
Juuso Pärssinen got the Wolf Pack on the board at 17:26 of the third period. The goal ended a 161:58 scoreless drought for Hartford, their longest of the season.
The Wolf Pack pushed in the final minutes with an extra attacker but were unable to equalize. Daws finished with the win.
The loss dropped Hartford to 1-8-0-1 in their last ten games.
The Wolf Pack’s next game is on Saturday night against the Belleville Senators. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
