Soft earth and soil makes sense but carved into solid rock? Doesn’t that seem…unlikely? Unless the sloths had like diamond encrusted claws or something.

I’ve seen the claws of a sloth. I’m glad I’ve not seen the claws of a giant sloth. They sound bloody terrifying.
