Momentus Inc. (MNTS) on Monday announced that it has entered into a partnership with NASA for in-orbit servicing and space operations.
As part of this program, Momentus will deliver a NASA CubeSat to low Earth orbit (LEO) to demonstrate joint rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) as well as formation flying, the company said.
Momentus shares were up nearly 17% in Monday morning’s trade. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around the company trended in the ‘neutral’ territory at the time of writing.
What Is The NASA Partnership About?
Explaining its partnership with NASA, the company stated that the space agency will provide support to Momentus in executing the Low-Cost Multispectral RPO Sensor (LCMRS) rendezvous demonstration mission.
The company said that it has been selected for this mission by the U.S. Air Force’s innovation arm, the Air Force Research Labs’ SPACEWERX organization.
Momentus stated that its sensor system will enhance spacecraft situational awareness and relative navigation, which is critical for in-space assembly and manufacturing, autonomous satellite servicing, and space debris management.
The company said it will use Wi-Fi–based inter-satellite links to transfer large files from the CubeSat to the Vigoride platform, which will then send the data to its operations center and NASA, demonstrating real-time space communications for future missions.
Momentus stated that the R5-S10 payload will ride aboard its Vigoride 7 vehicle, which is scheduled for launch after March 2026 via a SpaceX Transporter mission to LEO.

The company also offers satellites to commercial and government customers for communications, missile tracking, and science missions.
MNTS stock is up 43% year-to-date, but down 90% over the past 12 months.
