I checked theskylive its only supposed to be europan transit. Ive never seen this before though I’ve captured lots of transits. There are two images of europa, and two shadows. If it was a visual anomaly I wouldn’t expect it to make an extra shadow. Not sure what im missing here. Checked collumation, camera, i can’t figure this one out

  1. I’m gonna guess it’s an air stacking or some kind of double exposure. If you look at the edge of Jupiter, there’s a little bit of a shadow bulge in the bottom right it’s kind of at a diagonal at his thickest towards the inner part of the planet, if you look at the angle of the two Europa’s, it’s the same angle and probably the same offset.

    This is a live stack so after 8000 frames it would certainly avg out. It wouldn’t be consistent between stack resets either.
