The Greenville Comets travelled to Vandalia Wednesday night and were defeated by the Vandals 59-43.
The contest was close until midway through the third quarter.
The Comets led by three after the opening quarter and were in front by as many as seven points in the second stanza, but Vandalia battled back and led by five at halftime.
GHS got to within four points in the third, but from the midpoint of the third to the end of the game, the Vandals’ lead was in double figures.
Christian Swalley had 15 points for the Comets with Paxton Ackerman scoring 11 and Austin Swalley posting nine.
The junior varsity Comets lost 51-46.  Hayden Hediger totaled 11 points and Cannon Hamel had 10.
In the freshman game, the Comets were victorious by the score of 51-35. Leading scorers for the GHS team were Taevon Petty with 11, Lukas Jefferson with 10, Hediger with nine and Kingston Holloway with seven.
