This is going to sound far-fetched, but I saw something that looked exactly like this over a cornfield in western Pennsylvania in the northeastern United States in the mid-1990s.
It caught my eye against the beautiful clear blue sky, and I just stood there, staring at it as it sat there over the field, not moving. I knew if I ran back to the house it would be gone by the time I returned with anyone else, and I would sound crazy, so I just watched it for a while and then walked into the woods.
