A federal judge has ordered the release of an alleged illegal immigrant and his son from a Texas detention facility after ruling that federal law enforcement officers made an unlawful arrest of the two.
The father and his five-year-old son were detained earlier this month and taken to a detention center in Dilly, Texas, southwest of San Antonio.
The federal judge said the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who arrested Adrian Conejo Arias and his son must not deport the two while the judge’s order is in effect, and must release the two from the detention center by this Tuesday.
