For decades, Bigfoot lived in the shadows of folklore, dismissed as campfire fantasy or misidentified bears. Now, explosive DNA claims are dragging the legend back into the spotlight.

According to investigators and controversial genetic studies, Sasquatch may not only be real but bioengineered thousands of years ago using human DNA. The idea sounds unbelievable, yet supporters insist the evidence demands serious attention.

The renewed storm follows an episode of ‘Reality Check,’ where journalist Ross Coulthart interviewed author and investigator David Paulides about his film ‘American Sasquatch: Man, Myth, or Monster.’ Paulides, a former law enforcement officer, has spent years collecting eyewitness accounts and analysing patterns tied to Sasquatch sightings and unexplained disappearances.

While the interview doubled as promotion, Paulides argued that commercial motives do not invalidate the data discussed. He claimed hundreds of witnesses from credible backgrounds have come forward, and that public stigma surrounding Bigfoot has eased over the past two decades, much like shifting attitudes toward UFOs.

The DNA Study at the Heart of the Claims

Central to the controversy is a 2013 DNA study led by Dr Melba Ketchum. The research examined hair samples said to be linked to Sasquatch encounters. The findings stunned supporters and critics alike.

According to the study, mitochondrial DNA appeared human and traced back to the Middle East roughly twelve to fifteen thousand years ago. However, the male nuclear DNA did not match any known species in global genetic databases. Supporters interpret this as evidence of an unknown male hominin or non-human contributor, raising the possibility of deliberate genetic engineering in deep antiquity.

Mainstream scientists have challenged the study’s methodology and publication process, but Paulides maintains the results have never been convincingly disproven. To believers, the findings suggest Sasquatch may be a hybrid species, created long before recorded history.

Footage, Sounds, and Encounters That Refuse to Fade

Paulides also defended the authenticity of the 1967 Patterson Gimlin footage, long considered the most famous Bigfoot film ever recorded. He cited experts from Disney Studios who previously concluded that the creature’s movement and anatomy would have been impossible to replicate with costume technology available at the time.

Further intrigue comes from the so called Sierra Sounds, audio recordings captured in the 1960s. Naval linguist Scott Nelson analysed the recordings and described them as a structured language, even if its meaning remains unknown.

Witness accounts extend beyond forests and footprints. Paulides described incidents where Sasquatch sightings coincided with UFO or UAP activity. One chilling account involved humanoid figures emerging from a beam of light, blurring the line between cryptid and cosmic phenomena.

From Ancient Experiments to Modern Theories

Some supporters push the theory even further, suggesting Sasquatch could be interdimensional or cryptoterrestrial, sharing Earth while existing outside our normal perception. Paulides referenced an incident at Skinwalker Ranch where a bipedal creature reportedly emerged from a portal.

Online discussions have gone further still, speculating that non-human intelligences may use Earth life as a genetic library. These theories link Sasquatch to long-term biological experimentation rather than simple survival in the wilderness. Critics warn such ideas stray into science fiction, yet believers argue humanity’s growing knowledge of genetics makes ancient bioengineering less impossible than once assumed.

Paulides himself distances Sasquatch from cattle mutilations but continues to connect the phenomenon to his ‘Missing 411’ investigations, which examine disappearances marked by missing scent trails and sudden vanishing acts.

So Is Bigfoot Bioengineered or Still a Myth?

The headline question remains unanswered. No mainstream scientific body accepts the claim that Bigfoot was bioengineered ten thousand years ago. Yet DNA anomalies, credible witnesses, and decades of unexplained evidence keep the mystery alive.

Whether Sasquatch represents a lost branch of humanity, an engineered species, or a powerful modern myth, the debate is far from over. What is clear is that Bigfoot is no longer just a joke or a blurry photo. For many, it has become one of the most unsettling questions in the search for what else may be sharing this planet with us.
