PRINCETON, Ill. (KWQC) – The Newman Comets are closing in on TRAC championships for both the boys and girls teams.
Gissell Martin scored 20 points for the Comets to lead Newman to their second win over Princeton in two weeks. Newman held off a late Tigers comeback to get a 52-43 win. The Princton Tiger fans did have one thing to celebrate in the loss. Senior, Keighley Davis knocked down a three in the fourth quarter to become Princeton’s all-time leading scorer.
In the boys game, the Comets opened up a big lead early and they cruised to a 74-53 win. The third ranked Comets are now 24-0 on the season.
