The Greenville Comets held on Thursday night to pull out a 49-47 victory over Pana in the Litchfield Invitational.
Pana led by four points at halftime, then the teams traded leads throughout the second half.
With time in the game running down and the Comets trailing by one, Christian Swalley stole the ball at mid-court and drove for the layup which put the Comets in front 48-47 with 30 seconds to play.
The Panthers missed a shot and fouled. Austin Swalley sank one free throw for the final score.
Christian Swalley was the Comets top scorer with 16 points. Austin Swalley had 10 and Paxton Ackerman eight.
The Comets are 1-2 in the invitational and own an overall record 7-14. They play at 7:30 tonight in the ninth place game against Nokomis. The game will be broadcast on WGREL.
