UFO researcher and author of three books on the subject, Ray Szymanski, a Beavercreek resident, is shown speaking at the Bellbrook Presbytarian Church last Saturday. His lecture addressed the strange sightings and audio tapes of unidentified people and children talking and laughing in unoccupied buildings such as the Arnold House and Bldg 219 on base. And where “The Men in Black” fit in as guardians of base secrets.
BELLBROOK — Veteran UFO researcher, Ray Szymanski, made a rare public appearance when he spoke at the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church, 72 W. Franklin Street, Saturday morning.
Szymanski, who spent 40 years in the engineering field at Wright-Patterson AFB, has written three books on UFO cover-ups. His latest book, “Swamp Gas, My Ass”, the final book in the Alien Shades of Greys trilogy, takes issue with perceived secrets the base has been keeping regarding UFOs and the guardians of those secrets, “The Men in Black.”
On April 5, 1966, Dr. Harold Brown, Secretary of the Air Force, testified to Congress that the March 1966 Michigan UFOs were the result of “marsh gas produced by rotting vegetation.”
Fifty-five years later, Col. Gary Kent Carroll, a highly decorated USAF Fighter-Interceptor pilot, stepped forward to disclose the truth, which inspired the title of Szymanski’s latest book, said the author.
Besides his own pivotal conversations and insights with base personnel, Szymanski quotes many officials from the base and beyond who are “in the know.”
“I never believed in UFOs and all that stuff,” said Col. (ret.) Gary Carroll. “Then I saw one. After that, everything for me changed. How could it not?”
The Swamp Gas book details the true story of two highly decorated USAF fighter interceptor pilots as they intercepted the famous “1966 Michigan Swamp Gas UFO” in supersonic F-106 jets. Copies of reports and military records are displayed in the book.
According to the author, the pilots pursued North Korean MiG-21s over the Sea of Japan after the shootdown of an intelligence gathering U.S. Navy EC-21. That shootdown, said Szymanski, triggered massive U.S. intelligence community changes as documented in a National Security Agency report, formerly classified Top Secret/UMBRA.
Other books by the author include “Extraterrestrial Visitation to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base” and “Victoria’s Secret Truth” in the Alien Shades of Greys trilogy.
