Marvel Comics is finally showing us one of the most terrifying Xenomorph hybrids we’ve ever seen. First hinted back in 2024 in an Alien crossover via an all-too-brief reference, we’re now seeing this dark new hybrid in all of its horrifying glory.
Naturally, the Alien franchise has done some pretty scary stuff with Xenomorphs, though the Marvel Universe has certainly kicked things up a notch with its recent crossover comics. Likewise, this has arguably never been truer than with the new preview for Aliens vs Captain America #3, which fully reveals an incredibly dangerous new breed of Xenomorph in the Marvel Universe.
Alien vs. Captain America #3 Finally Debuts Xenomorph-Skrull Hybrids
(Yes, They Can Shapeshift)
In a dark tale told by the Kree’s Captain Mar-Vell, Captain America and his surviving men learn about a unique hive of Xenomorphs that had gestated within a group of Skrull warriors. As if normal Xenomorphs weren’t dangerous enough, Mar-Vell confirms these Xenomorph hybrids can indeed shapeshift, allowing them to catch their prey completely unaware until it’s far too late.
Taking the form of Kree soldiers, these shapeshifting Xenomorph-Skrull hybrids are seen in this new preview invading the Kree homeworld of Hala. We also see the Kree’s ruling Supreme Intelligence at a loss for what to do before a Xenomorph bursts out of the collective consciousness, a new hybrid in its own right that presumably has new abilities we’ll learn about in the full issue.
At any rate, it seems the Kree-Skrull War took a massive turn in this crossover reality thanks to the Xenomorphs, a conflict that has now come to Earth during the events of World War II. As such, it should be pretty cool to see Captain America join forces with Mar-Vell in the full issue (assuming he’s the real deal…)
Xenomorph-Skrull Hybrids Were First Teased In 2024’s Aliens vs Avengers

Interestingly enough, the idea of Xenomorph-Skrull hybrids was first referenced in an earlier Marvel crossover with Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić’s Aliens vs Avengers. While mentioned, they weren’t actually shown in the series, which focused instead on a Xenomorph hybrid with X-Men villain Mister Sinister. Keeping that in mind, it’s pretty cool to see these Skrull hybrids fully realized in this new crossover series from Frank Tieri and Stefano Raffaele.
