So we are moving away from Andromeda but will eventually collide? Is Andromeda moving faster than us or something?

I remember watching a presentation on the MW at a library and the presenter had a Q/A session after the show. He included an image similar to this. I had a question but felt like I was going to make him look bad so I waited until the Q/A session ended and asked. “Hey Mr Science Guy, if the MW galaxy is 100,000 light-years wide, who took this picture of the Milky Way?” He did a doubletake hesi to see if I was kidding but then answered sincerely, “No, this is not a picture from anything, it’s an artist’s rendering.” I think he felt sorry for how stupid I was. I was 30 at the time.

Hilariously enough, aren’t we (Earth) about where the dot of the ‘i’ is in Orion Spur?

My brain can’t comprehend how big this is, and how big is the universe. Is just impossible.

How can we know what is behind the dense center of our galaxy?
At least mention the source:
