Galaxies never cease to amaze me. This one bears some resemblance to the Umbrella Galaxy, but its tail is entirely different and uniquely striking. We see its tidal arms winding around the galaxy, which is the glow made of millions of stars scattered by a past merger or the gravitational pull of another galaxy.
The galaxy NGC 1084 lies about 64 million light-years away from us.
