GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota men’s basketball wraps up its three-game homestand on Tuesday night against Mayville State from Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. on Summit League Network and 1440 KKXL-AM The FAN.

The Fighting Hawks are coming off a 93-85 loss to CSUN on Sunday afternoon. Greyson Uelmen had a team high 24 points on 7-of-9 shooting, the most points by a freshman since Dec. 22, 2021 when Paul Bruns had 27 against NDSU.

UND trailed by as many as 15 and got the deficit to as low as one on four different occasions in the second half.

Mayville State owns a 4-1 record, taking its first loss of the season on Friday to Briar Cliff by an 80-73 margin. The Comets scored over 100 points in the four games previously, having five players averaging 10 or more points on the season.

King 100 Steals

Eli King recorded his 100th career steal on Sunday against CSUN in just his 68th career game. King has nine steals so far this season, with two or more in all three games. He has also had 10 or more points in six consecutive games going back to last season.

Kraft Staying Hot

Zach Kraft has been super-efficient and effective from behind the arc to start the season, going 9-for-19 (47.2%) from deep. He ranks third in the Summit League in three-point% and second in threes made. His nine triples in the first three games of the season are the most by a UND player since Treysen Eaglestaff opened up the 2023 season with 11 triples in three games.

A3 Don’t Play Like A Freshman

Anthony Smith lll has emerged as a top offensive threat for the Hawks, leading UND in points per game with 13.3. Smith is averaging 16.0 points per game over the last two games with 23 of those 32 points over the last two contests coming in the second half.

Winning the Turnover Battle

North Dakota has turned the ball over just 28 times over the first three games of the season, while their opponents have turned the ball over a combined 50 times. UND’s turnover margin of +7.33 leads the Summit League.
