Haumea is a dwarf planet located in the outer reaches of our Solar System, beyond the orbit of Neptune, in the region known as the Kuiper Belt. It is unusually elongated, rather than nearly spherical, its fast rotation has stretched it into an ellipsoid shape, making it one of the most peculiar large bodies in the Kuiper Belt. Haumea has at least two known moons and a ring system, which are very rare features for distant objects of its size. Fun fact: Haumea completes a full rotation in only about 3.9 to 4 hours, making it one of the fastest spinning large objects in the Solar System.
