About the comet:
The blue tail glows from ionized carbon monoxide (CO⁺) swept away by the solar wind, while the green coma comes from diatomic carbon (C₂) molecules fluorescing in sunlight.
Comet Lemmon originates from the Oort Cloud, a vast sphere of icy remnants left over from the Solar System’s formation.
